Booking our stay at the Marriott Downtown Hartford was a breeze, and from the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming , definitely one of the highlights of the experience.

We stayed in the Executive Suite, which was spacious and had a nice layout. However, some of the furniture felt a bit worn and outdated, which slightly took away from the premium feel. The bathroom was large, which was great, but also showed its age. There was no ventilation, and it was clear the shower hadn’t been scrubbed as thoroughly as it should’ve been.

On a positive note, the bed was very comfortable and made for a restful night’s sleep.

As for the breakfast buffet, I’d recommend either expanding the offerings or making it complimentary. As it stands, it didn’t quite feel worth the price.

Overall, if you're in town for a game, concert, or business trip, the location and convenience are excellent. But if you’re looking for something special like a suite for a wedding day or romantic getaway , this may not be the ideal fit.

I was not impressed. Especially for the price charged.

Bad check in experience, with promises that manager would reach out to me. They did not.

Asked about it the following day and was told by staff at desk that someone would definitely get in touch. Didn't happen.

But I DID find out that the person I spoke to at the desk WAS THE MANAGER I'd been waiting to hear from (not including her name here to be polite). And she knew who I was. And she chose NOT to mention that.

I also received incorrect information from staff prior to booking (I was told there would be a microwave in-room, as well as a pool for hotel guests. Neither was true).

Lastly, I'll point out that the style/decor of a hotel room is not something I pay a lot of attention to. But this room was notably ugly.

I asked about ANY kind of adjustment (credit, points, partial refund, etc) and was flatly denied.

This hotel seems out of line with the prevailing norms in the US hospitality industry.

    Disappointing.

Outright exploitative pricing for nearly ZERO amenities. It should be illegal to charge what they do. Absolutely no reason to stay at this hotel aside from being close to convention center. Hotel is old. Pool closed. TVs barely worked. Rooms tiny n dingy. Soap was gross, bring your own. No mic in room. Fridge was gross. Price was about double compared to everything else in the area. Parking was expensive. I would never return under any circumstance unless they are much cheaper than competitors. Convention was phenomenal but I'd stay elsewhere and commute. To anyone hosting a convention offering this as a room block for anything more than 120 a night, you're customers will probably feel ripped off and may have a negative impression. I've stayed at other hotels in the area and they are all better for the price.
