We had an educational tour here as an 8th grader! It was really interesting to learn about the history of Cagayan, its people, its history, and its remnants. In fact, this itself was the old Cagayan Provincial Jail until it became a museum in 1973.

Fun fact: The one who planned the Rizal's park was a contemporary of Rizal himself, and also, it was built in 08/17/1917 !

Housed in the historic Spanish-era Casa Tribunal of Tuguegarao (which also served as the Old Cagayan Provincial Jail), the museum was established in 1973. It aims to preserve and showcase Cagayan's diverse heritage, from prehistoric times to the present. Don't miss out on this museum when visiting Tuguegarao City. As of writing, some parts of the museum are under development.
