I stayed at Hotel Nikko for a longer period during my trip at Fukuoka, and I thought it was very nice. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit. All the front desk staff I encountered were friendly, polite, and helpful.

The hotel is very close to Hakata Station, only about a 3–5 minute walk. Ichiran Ramen is also nearby, which made it very convenient. I also tried the in-room massage service, which was a traditional acupuncture-style massage without oil.

The day before I checked out, the hotel staff kindly brought a scale to my room to help me weigh my luggage upon my request. During my stay, the hotel was undergoing renovations, and the staff informed me about this in advance. Fortunately, I was usually out during the construction hours, so it did not disturb my sleep at night.

Rooms are quite practical. Seems they've upgraded and renovated the room itself, as this hotel seems to have a history.
All the staff are quite friendly, attentive, always smiling, well-groomed and mannered, always greeting guests, willing to assist. I'm amazed with the service level at this hotel.
The hotel itself is quite close by to Hakata station and Amu plaza. Quite a lot of eateries and café nearby. Quite convenient. There's a 7-11 nearby and even more behind the hotel. A few pharmacies nearby too.

I have very mixed feelings about my stay. First off, the service was impeccable; the reception staff were incredibly friendly and professional. The hardware in the room was also practical—plenty of power outlets in good locations (better than Mitsui Garden) and a Smart TV with Netflix/YouTube.

However, I had a terrifying experience during the night. The room lighting was very dim with limited controls, creating a gloomy atmosphere. The most disturbing part happened around 2 AM: my phone, sitting untouched on the bedside table, automatically dialed a number I had called earlier that day. Right after I hung up, I heard a creepy laugh coming from the ceiling.

I tried to tell myself it was a glitch or just terrible soundproofing (I could also clearly hear intimate sounds from the neighbors later on). While the service is 10/10, the poor sound insulation and the unsettling atmosphere made for a sleepless night. Not recommended for the faint-hearted.
