I attended Noche Mexicana on Sep 14 with my friend and we had a great time. They had a few vendors selling artesanías in the lobby and an array of art presentations (Ballet folclórico, mariachi, and a gallery). We learned a lot about the role of the Center on the local culture and it was a welcoming environment.

I recently lost my cousin to cancer. He was an actor, playwright and poet. He had helped with cultivating talent, fundraising, and became a mentor to so many people of color. Last Sunday they held a memorial service in his honor at the Mission Cultural Center. It was absolutely beautiful. I found out things I didn't know about him. I also learned of the struggles the Mission Cultural Center is facing. It needs funds to stay open. What this establishment does for its surrounding community is just incredible and beautiful. The world is struggling right now, but please show your support in helping keep this place open!! Artists of all walks of life in our community rely on the Mission Cultural Center. My cousin for decades utilized this place to aspire and inspire. I pray his legacy is able to live on in the continuation of what he considered his home. PLEASE help save The cultural center today!!!

What an amazing night! The San Francisco International Arts Festival held its opening night performance at the mission cultural Center, with a play by Cassandra production from Denmark, and a lovely reception afterward, where theater doors got to meet with and engage with the actors. This was incredible!
