Our boat trip to Cebu was canceled due to inclement weather, so we decided to stay at this resort, and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were incredibly accommodating throughout our stay. The food was great, and most of the items on the menu were available. I also enjoyed spending time at the pool the following day before checking out. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and the place is highly recommended.

    – The place was okay.
    – The pool was great but the food needs improvement.
    – The wifi connection was bad so if you're a digital nomad, I would not recommend.
    – When we ate our dinner, it was a so-so experience. It took a while since there were a lot of people but we were disappointed with some of the dishes. The noodles and the calamari were dry and a little bland. We loved the spring rolls as well as the roasted chicken.
    – The ambiance was great if you want to just relax.

Sabin Resort, Ormoc – Honest Review (December 27 Stay)

I tried to book our stay about a month in advance for December 27. Calling the number on their social media account was unsuccessful, no one answered multiple calls. I eventually tried emailing and received a response.

I paid via bank transfer. I was told payment verification would take **5 business days**. On the 5th business day, there was still no update, and I had to call again. This time someone answered, and only then did they send the confirmation email. This booking process felt unusual and inconvenient, as I’ve never experienced this kind of follow-up issue with other hotels.

Upon check-in, the front desk staff was **not very welcoming**. I was asked, *“Do you know which way?”* and when I said it was our first time, I was simply told to walk straight until I see a building with a parked golf cart. No assistance was offered. I noticed staff walking around but no one approached us, possibly assuming guests already know the layout.

We ended up walking quite far. Later, I realized that the **golf cart is used to transport guests to the new building**, but this was never offered to us.

The **room itself was okay**. It was spacious, and the sheets were clean, though they didn’t have that fresh hotel scent, not bad, just neutral. We paid **₱5,600**, which included **two extra beds**.

The **pool area is decent**, but there are **not enough tables and chairs** where guests can place their belongings or lounge comfortably.

The **restaurant was the biggest disappointment**. It was unorganized, overcrowded, and clearly understaffed. We waited **over an hour** for food that was **expensive and not good at all**. I usually don’t mind waiting if the food is worth it, but this wasn’t the case.

Overall, I think I expected more from this resort. We came to relax, but the place felt **crowded and noisy**, which took away from the experience. This may be due to peak season, and we might consider visiting again during off-peak days to see if there’s an improvement. If we do return, I’ll update this review.

For now, the experience did not meet expectations, especially considering the price and the resort’s image.
