Went during the Juneteenth celebration that was free to the public. Very thoughtful and honest tour of the refurbished enslaved houses on the property from the historical interpreter that helped do the research. Also viewed the Juneteenth Black Rodeo exhibit which was wonderful and enjoyed the gospel choir that was there. All of the staff were wonderful will definitely go back again.

If you’re an architecture buff or a history buff this is a must see. Not only is it beautiful, it tells the story of Austin in a period of transition. The slave quarters are particularly interesting. Sometimes it is hard to remember/ believe that slavery was practiced in Austin, and this is a reminder of that.
The staff is super nice too. Definitely worth the low entry price.
