What a beautiful place – we visited for the first time today and were very impressed with the natural beauty and the facilities like the visitor center, the boardwalk and the pavilions. My kiddo especially enjoyed the animals they had at the visitor center! It’s a great way to spend an afternoon. It was very cool to see wildlife like the prairie dogs, bison, and so many birds! (Highly suggest downloading the Merlin app to see just how many – incredible!) We will definitely be back here to do some more exploring, it is well worth the very small admission. Thank you also, to the staff who were so helpful and knowledgable!

This is my 2nd time visiting Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge. The first time was during the summer and I drove straight to Greer Island. Drive slowly because we saw a multitude of wildlife crossing the road from squirrels to deer to armadillos. The 2nd time I visited was on a Sunday around 8AM and I visited the Marsh Boardwalk (see pictures). Very calm, serene, and isolated perfect for a hike! I hope you like it as much as I did!

I LOVE this place. It's got tons of different spots to visit and the hiking on great. Many are short but you can also combine to get long distances. There are some really great kayaking entryway. The Lillypad walkway is a must see as is the bison viewing station.
