I came here on a whim for a Friday dinner and was not prepared for any of it. Not the view, not the food, not the fact that I'd spend the entire drive home trying to figure out when I could reasonably come back without it being weird.
We started with the Lobster Bisque, which already felt like a steal before it even arrived. Creamy and rich, finished with tomato, brandy and tarragon, it was the kind of opener that sets a dangerous precedent for the rest of the meal. We split it and I regretted that immediately. The fully loaded version with two ounces of Maine lobster is very clearly the correct choice. I know that now. I didn't know that then. Live and learn.
From there we moved to the Berkshire Pork Belly Confit, which came plated over a butternut squash purée with wild mushrooms and a maple-apple cider reduction. It sounds like something you'd order in October and it tasted like the best version of that idea. The pork was tender all the way through with just enough caramelization on the outside, and the purée underneath pulled every component together in a way that felt almost architectural. I kept eating slowly just to make it last longer.
Then came the Pan-Seared Grouper, and honestly the night peaked here. Topped with lump crab, potato purée, sautéed broccolini and a tomato-caper sauce with fresh oregano, it was a plate that knew exactly what it was doing. The sear on the grouper was perfect, the crab on top felt genuinely generous rather than decorative, and the brightness from the tomato-caper sauce kept the whole thing from ever feeling too heavy. I cleaned the plate and felt no shame about it.

Elegant and old school restaurant right on the water. Interior feels chic yet cozy, and well lit. I came for the Happy Hour which is from 4 to 6PM, and required me to sit in the bar area — so keep that in mind if you're coming here with other people! For an upscale place, I felt that the dishes were reasonably priced and had good portion sizes. An absolute must try are the mussels, served in a delightful cream sauce that makes my mouth water now thinking about it. Also enjoyed the pork belly skewers and slaw. Pork belly requires a LOT of work to be executed correctly (get a nice crisp without being too greasy or salty) and not only was the texture perfect, but the taste was too. I tried the tuna tataki, which I think has a little bit too much rice in proportion to the other ingredients, but it was still tasty! The oysters and mushrooms dish was a special, and I liked them. The strawberry mojito was sweet and refreshing. Finished off the night with the banana cake, served with a banana gelato! But I think the best part of my time there was the staff. They were super sweet, greeted other locals at the bar and checked in with them frequently… it's clear they care a lot about not only delivering a good experience but their community as a whole.

Amazing food! The service was a little slow and wrong order of oysters came out, but we enjoyed it regardless. View is the best part of this restaurant. We came here for lunch and fully enjoyed the beautiful lake view along the Milwaukee art museum. It is a bit on the expensive side, but still highly recommend coming out to celebrate any occasions or no occasions.
