The Main Library is a quiet and peaceful place with plenty of books of nearly all genres that anyone of any age can enjoy. It's a place to study, work, relax with friends, hold meetings, go on a casual date, or simply sit down with a newspaper for ten minutes. I had forgotten my love of reading until I got a library card here.
The library is divided into sections based on what demographic the books are primarily intended for. There is a large kids' section encouraging young readers, complete with toys and other interactive games like a wall of customizable lights (that's what the heart is). A young adult section is also on the first floor, located by the manga section, which I have made great use of this year. Upstairs are the adult books, which are split between fiction and nonfiction.
Upstairs are also rows of computers, which are free for public use so long as you don't do anything indecent or sketchy. Printers are available for a tiny fee and nothing is stopping you from claiming one of the private study rooms. Vending machines offer drinks and a cheap snack cart is open at certain hours. The restroom is clean, as is the rest of the library.
Getting a card is easy and managing your library account is equally so. You can check out many items at once and are given early notice of when you're approaching a due date. Searching for items is simple and the friendly staff are always ready to give assistance.
There's plenty of parking and a bike rack just outside the main doors. Events are regularly held to bring readers together and in general, the library promotes a sense of community and belonging. If I could work here, I would.
