Came in thinking it was a small place, BOY WAS I WRONG! As you walk in, to the right there is the cafe, the gift shop, and then the ticketing counter. The tickets are only a dollar! For such a big museum, that is an awesome price! To the right of the ticket counter, there is the start of the exhibits with the discovery age dipicted in a few rooms. Then there is the history of the US Navy in Hampton roads in the next few rooms, and then a whole room dedicated to a catamaran. VERY IMPORTANT, do not miss out on the International Small Craft Center. So many diverse and unique small boats on display. Then head to the ironclad exhibit where you get to know everything about the USS Monitor and CSS Virginia. There are also many model ships on display if you head to the left instead of to the discovery age area. If you head to to the preservation area, you can see the Monitor's engine, cannons, and turret. There is also a replica that I unfortunately couldn't see due to it raining. Great place, would highly recommend to any wanting any sort of navel history or facts.

Amazing museum. I learned a lot. Incredible atmosphere, very clean and professional. And the $1 entry?? Sublime. So happy I finally made it out here! I loved being able to see all the item storage. It made the experience more authentic.

Wow this place is so deceiving. We were looking for something to do while it was raining and for a $1 each entrance fee we figured it would be a small distraction for the kids. This place is huge and very interesting.
Kids were given a 'treasure hunt' map to find items on display and were rewarded with an item from the treasure chest at the end.
