The 'accidental' creation of the 400 block has single handedly transformed down town into a true treasure.
Once the bandstand was erected, the 400 Block became a wonderful venue for local and national bands. During the day, this open space makes downtown feel spacious and clean. During the summer, on Wednesday evenings, there usually is a wonderful band playing, at no cost. You are allowed to carry in any beverage/food of your choice. Open alcohol containers are allowed within the 400 block park.
During winter months, this area turns into a large outdoor ice skating rink.

Love the 400 Block! A great place for all kinds of events including concerts, art displays and sales, and food trucks. We went to Chalkfest, and were not disappointed. It's amazing the talent these people have. Make sure to check it out if you're in the area!

Hip Pocket was great. The crowd was kind of subdued. I haven't been to a 400 block event in about 5 years. Why so many LEOs?
