This is a top notch tour! I highly suggest the premium guided tour! It is completely worth the extra $5. The house is gorgeous! The tour guide did a great job of keeping a balance between talking about the family and the slaves who worked and lived in Bellamy Mansion. I highly recommend this tour!

The Bellamy Mansion has a layered history. The architecture is grandiose, and you can see how some of the building was made in a few exhibits that expose the layers. You will learn a lot of details with the guided tour. We toured yesterday, and our guide explained details you wouldn’t get otherwise; you can also get a behind the ropes view of a few normally off limits areas. The Christmas decorations this time of year put a unique element of festivity into the space; whomever decorates does a phenomenal job layering unique elements; take a look at the themes of each room. The mansion has been restored well and thoughtfully after fires and deterioration in years past. The non profit Preserve North Carolina currently owns the property.

Very interesting old home to explore. DIY audio tour was really good. Way better than expected. When I visited previously we had an in person tour. This was really nice to go at our own place. Not recommended for littles, but my 7 year old did great. Great way to see how we lived in the past.
