This review is for their summer camps, specifically at Cliff Nelson.

My daughter attended one of the weekly summer camps and truly enjoyed herself. Drop off and pickup was seamless. Even as the days went on and they started to recognized me, I was still asked for either my DL or the family code, which I am a fan of.

2/4 days took the students off site to an adventure: nature walk and swimming. She had a blast each time.

While on site, she played games, went fishing, painted rocks, tie-dyed socks, bounce house, played on the playground, etc.

We will likely look into this again next summer.

The only “complaint” from her was that some of the instructors were a tad mean/sassy. But, that could be relative from a child’s perspective.

Overall great experience and option to help with those long summer days

Alan bolden pool is the best pool in the city. Beach entry is great for people of all abilities including wheelchair bound. There are lots of life guards present all the time. They keep the whole area clean and tidy. Having some mobility issues I can't go to woodland west because it only has an old metal pool ladder to get in and out of the pool. Woodland west is absolutely not friendly to less abled customers. The staff are very helpful and accommodate what they can though..this pool needs an update with steps to enter the pool with a hand rail at the very least. I nearly dislocated my shoulder trying to climb out and will never go back in again. It was embarrassing and painful. Randol Mill pool and baz are both grossly overpriced. Randol is basically a kiddie pool with a small pool with the lazy river for older kids. There is nowhere to actually swim. The lifeguards don't enforce rules and allow people to go swimming with full length jeans and tee shirts on. They don't enforce conduct for kids and they allow them to run wild while the mothers just ignore them. This pool is dangerous and I will not go there. Baz is also very small and does not have a 3ft area for young kids. The limited swim area means it is very crowded and you pay 6.50 to stand in water. Again, kids run wild and nobody cares. The kiddie pools and splash pads are wonderful for young kids. They are great for birthday parties. The overall park amenities are dated, very run down, poorly maintained and need money to upgrade. Instead the city poured millions into a senior center on the far west side of town serving the well to do who already have pools and private gyms. Arlington can have first class parks and rec again with the right leadership and ability to prioritize for WHOLE CITY not just campaign donor's.
