Carmel Valley Ranch is a truly beautiful property, and we had an amazing experience being hosted there for a work conference. From the moment we arrived, the staff stood out as exceptionally friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. I had a preexisting injury during my stay, and the team went out of their way to accommodate me—bringing ice packs promptly when I was in pain, which made a real difference and was deeply appreciated.

The conference and meeting spaces are outstanding—spacious, well-designed, and ideal for hosting professional events. The catering was excellent throughout the conference, and dinner was genuinely delicious. Everything felt thoughtfully executed.

Our room was spacious, comfortable, and lovely, with quality furniture and a relaxing layout. While the rooms aren’t ultra-luxurious and felt more on the simple side, this wasn’t an issue for me at all. The only small note is that the decor lacked a bit of the character I’d expect from a place called a “ranch”—the rooms were fairly minimal, with basic bedding and little decorative detail. That said, they were clean, comfortable, and perfectly suited for a business stay.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to take full advantage of all the amenities since we were there primarily for work, but the grounds alone are spectacular. The property features beautiful hiking trails, gardens, and even animals, which really elevate the overall experience and make it feel special.

Overall, Carmel Valley Ranch is an incredible destination for conferences, retreats, or events, with warm service, excellent food, and stunning surroundings. I can’t wait to return—hopefully with more time to fully enjoy everything the property has to offer.

CVR exceeded my expectations in every way. I was a bit hesitant about the stay due to mixed reviews online and after receiving an email from the hotel a week prior to my stay informing us that the lobby, lodge pool+hot tub, and spa would be undergoing renovations. However, we had an excellent time during our stay. While walking to the check in area, we passed by a few employees who greeted us very warmly and with smiles. Prachi at check in was extremely professional and kind, as was all the other staff at the front desk. We were super lucky to have been upgraded to a suite due to having Globalist status which gave us a room that was significantly larger than the original room.

Dinner at Valley Kitchen was delicious and the cocktails were excellent as well. Our server, Jose, was super fun and great. The property itself is very well maintained and there were many staff members working on landscaping in the morning to make sure the grounds are kept looking spotless. We were shocked by how large the grounds were which is great if you're looking for a nice walk but you can also utilize the shuttle service which was quick and efficient.

There are many activities for both adults and children, although most are at an additional charge. We attended some included activities such as the cheese tasting and gym classes and they were all very well organized. I do recommend making reservations in advance for gym classes as I think it is shared with members of their club.

The resort seemed to be very pet friendly as we saw many cute dogs during our stay! They were all very well-behaved. I was a bit shocked at how many families with young kids there were, but most were well-behaved with the occasional screaming child.

Our only regret is not staying longer! Highly recommended 🙂

Carmel Valley Ranch left me speechless and part of me wishes I didn’t write this review so that I can gatekeep its beauty, but the staff and hotel truly deserve it. This resort is an absolute stunner and if I could I’d give it 100 out of the 5 stars.

From the minute you step on the property, the staff show you an incredible level of hospitality and grace. At every point of our staycation, the desk staff, restaurant staff, shuttle drivers, farmhands, and beyond made the experience unforgettable and weren’t afraid to go the extra mile. Pair that with the beautiful hotel grounds, spacious rooms, and amazing amenities and this hotel is an easy winner compared to even some of the other more pricier options in the area.

The restaurant on site is a must for breakfast and dinner as the food was phenomenal. Likewise, don’t overlook the endless list of activities the hotel offers for guests like the farm visits or gym classes down at the club which were the two highlights for us.

Honestly, not a single bad thing to say and I can’t wait to come back, so glad this place is only a few hours away.
