I went today for Sunday Lunch – The whole experience was amazing.
I took my son for his birthday and was pleased to see that a card had been left on the table – nice touch!
The service was attentive and slick , the food was fabulous!
The restaurant is beautifully decorated and it was lovely to see an open pass and see the chefs working.
Worth the drive and every penny to enjoy the food.

The restaurant is in the Michelin Guide and definitely deserves more attention. Every dish was beautifully presented and tasted incredible. Portions were small but there were so many courses that I left completely full. The amuse‑bouche was a standout. Overall, amazing food and seriously underrated.

As a builder and a complete food snob I don’t dish out praise lightly, but The Boat in Lichfield genuinely impressed me.

From the moment we walked in, you can tell they’ve put real investment and work into the place the décor, the finishes, the atmosphere… it’s all done properly, no cutting corners. Always a good sign and the first impression is very important. Especially in my trade I start to form my opinion of a restaurant by the quality of it’s physical construction. Until the food arrives…

Now the food: High quality. I’m fussy to the point of annoying when it comes to flavour, textures and presentation, but every plate that came out was spot on. Fresh ingredients, seasoned properly, cooked with real care the sort of food where you can tell all the chefs take great pride in their work.

Service was faultless too. Friendly, switched on, and they actually check back at the right time instead of when your mouth’s full or when you’re about to pay.

If you’re into good food, proper hospitality, and somewhere that feels like it’s run with pride, The Boat is well worth the visit. Easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.
