Fresh Seafood Delights at Manna Sutukil seafood restaurant.
Located at the historic Mactan Shrine, Sutukil Seafood Restaurant is a must-visit for seafood enthusiasts.
The restaurant offers an impressive array of fresh seafood displayed on trays of ice, allowing customers to choose their preferred catch. From squids and flower crabs to scallops, prawns, and various types of fish, including the prized Lapu-Lapu, the selection is vast.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including grilled Lapu-Lapu fish, baked scallops, garlic butter prawns, chopsuey, garlic rice, and a bottle of San Miguel. The price of around 2000 pesos was reasonable, considering the freshness. However, some dishes had room for improvement – the grilled fish was slightly over-charred, and the cheese baked scallops were a tad too sweet (but that’s just my taste bud; maybe it’s a local’s favourite).
The garlic butter prawns were flavorful, but we noticed that most of the prawn shells were stuck to the flesh, which was a bit disappointing unless you dont mind eating the shells of the prawns. Their garlic rice is our favourite – just enough oil and fragrance ❣️
Despite these minor issues, the staff was attentive and helpful, making our dining experience enjoyable sitting in a bamboo shed setup overlooking the swamp (we think, as it was too dark at night to make out) and right next to the brightly lit Mactan Shrine.
Overall, Sutukil is a great spot to try local seafood, and we appreciated the driver's recommendation. With a bit of fine-tuning in their cooking, this restaurant could become a standout in Cebu's culinary experience.
