Good exhibits and explanations. Blue hats are wonderful helper. They answer your questions and explain about different minerals and process. Underground mine tour was well worth time and money. Under ground tour is about 1&1/2 hour and you need at least 1 hour to see exhibits.

Had a great time here with my family. The kids (and their parents) had a great time geeking out with all the rocks and minerals around. There are lots of great play areas for kids 12 and under, including an outdoor play park. My younger kids mostly stayed in the lower level's climbing structure and had a lot of fun being miners with other kids. There are also activities that you can do (like a scavenger hunt) to get points, and those points can be used to choose a rock to take home for free.
The mine tour was a lot of fun and has changed a lot since I last visited when I was a kid. Great information, and Addison was a great tour guide with knowledgeable answers and patience for curious kids.
One piece of advice to consider when you're planning your trip is to be aware that everything is labelled "Science North" – even though you're booking admission and an underground tour at Dynamic Earth. The tickets you book for the mining tour are from "Science North" and have the Science North address on it without indicating that the tour is located at a different venue (no other address is provided). I imagine it could be confusing for people who aren't familiar with how things are set up. You must buy admission to Dynamic Earth, and then the Underground tour is an add-on to that.

Really cool earth science and mining museum and the mine tour is fun, too. Well done workshops and the kids loved exploring all of the types of mineral. Worth the trip!
