A spectacular venue for parties or weddings. I have been to this location for 2 events and was beyond belief when I arrived. The POOL where the Roaring twenties event occured was so amazing, the renovated pool area, the glass floor over the old pool the upstairs balcony where the band played, no matter where your eyes venture the place is just a wonder to be gazed upon. The grand staircase room was perfect for the Lindler wedding I attended in 2018. The art museum feel as you walk into the primary venue building was such a cooling escape from the heat outside and made it feel very upscale. The lighting throughout the facility is very calming and yet vibrant and allows for excellent photography. The restrooms were well-kept and relaxing, a great escape from a vigorous dance off during the wedding when you need a moment to collect yourself and cool-off. The brickwork in the building transported me to my home of Charleston and was simply beautiful. It doesn't feel very industrial when you walk in as I found other venues with ample space to feel around the city. The staff who operate the venues various events are always very welcoming and ready to take on your vision and make it a reality, the network of vendors they have acquired over the years benefits anyone who attends this locations events or sets up their own dream event.

When we started planning our wedding, 701 Whaley was an easy first choice venue, and we couldn't have been happier anywhere else. We've always loved this building and the wonderfully-restored event spaces (you have to check out their new pool space, which is so incredibly cool), not to mention all of 701's spaces—inside and out—are perfect for photography. The 701 staff is so wonderful to work with: we planned our wedding nearly entirely from out of town, and Tom didn't bat an eyelash—he met with us over FaceTime to tour the full space and run through everything they could provide, and he emailed over tons of documents and diagrams about the space that we referenced throughout the planning process. We were even more excited to discover that 701 also rents a loft unit upstairs. We booked it for our wedding weekend, and WOW–just wow. As you could expect from the rest of the building, the space is absolutely phenomenal, with amazingly high ceilings and natural light (and those gorgeous walls). Staying upstairs from the venue made our whole weekend go so smoothly (also highly recommend booking the bridal suite for this same reason). We had the best experience working with the team at 701 Whaley and can't imagine having used a different venue to host our wedding ceremony and reception.
