There are times when you encounter something so amazing in the most unexpected of places that you start questioning reality. An elevated haute cuisine desert was the experience of the day. At Axiote, this chocolate desert was amazing. Imagine a deconstructed brownie of fresh coco beans mixed with raw peanuts, honey and Lyncott cream, which could have been its own thing, but them top it with a Hydrogenated honey and orange foam and you get a desert so surreal that you can't help but laugh and cry with ever bite, because you realize it is one of the most exquisite experiences you will have in your life while fully understanding Proust's yearning for Madeleine.
That was us tonight and we couldn't help but ask for a second serving, which was as exquisite as the first.
And that was after an appetizer (Ha'Sikil P'ak) and main course (Terrina de Cerdo) that both deserve their own stories.
Michelin gave it a bib gourmand award but in my book this desert alone requires its own trip.

The 8 course tasting menu was absolutely fantastic and the service was great. Highly recommend! Heads up… the first impression we got walking in did not align with our initial expectations but glad we stayed and gave it a chance. If you’re a foodie this is the restaurant for you!

Awesome. Filiberto was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. The food and drinks were delicious.
Message ahead and get a reservation for the tasting menu (it’s not advertised). The price to value is unmatched.
