When I visit Dover DE, I usually book at Bally’s Casino Hotel. I love the location as it is conveniently located near many shops, restaurants etc. I also love that the casino is inside the hotel. Prices for stay arr reasonable. Rates vary per night but the weekdays are typically around $60-$70 a night which isn’t bad at all. The rooms are always clean. Hotel staff are somewhat friendly. It depends on who is working to be honest. I’ve encountered amazing staff at front desk like Elizabeth! And have encountered some staff that are not so friendly. Room service maids are always pleasant and helpful. The channels on TV are not too great. Parking lot is always packed! I personally like the hotel and would recommend it. They do accommodate me and it’s never noisy no matter which floor I am on. Lastly, the furniture in rooms is very outdated and gives “old” hotel but the beds are comfy with great pillows! Bathrooms are nice too. Like I said, it’s not ugly inside, it’s elegant but somewhere outdated. Still comfy and you get a good nights rest! I also loved watching the horses race from the 10th floor window. It also snowed a little bit and was beautiful to watch from my room! I especially enjoyed watching the sun rise every morning from the 10th floor room. So beautiful.

Stayed at Bally’s Hotel & Casino in Dover, Delaware for a fun little getaway – and wow, it delivered… just not always in the ways intended.

First, the shower. The water pressure was so aggressive it felt less like self-care and more like combat training. I went in to relax and came out questioning my life choices. My nipples are still filing a formal complaint. If you enjoy showers that double as a power wash, you’ll love it.

Second issue: no microwave. Anywhere. At all. So how exactly am I supposed to heat up food? Just stare at my leftovers and remember when they were warm? Cold casino fries at midnight was not part of the dream.

And then there’s the Sugar Factory. Looked adorable, very Instagram-worthy… but the sweets tasted like straight-up Play-Doh. Bright, colorful, nostalgic – in the way that reminds you of kindergarten art class, not dessert. Cute to look at, less cute to chew.

On the plus side, the room was clean, the casino vibe was fun, and the location is convenient. If Bally’s could tone the shower down from “industrial strength,” add a microwave, and maybe swap the candy for something edible, this could be a real winner.

Would I stay again? Possibly. Would I bring snacks, emotional support, and protective gear for the shower? Absolutely.
