This is a wonderful community for people of all ages from birth until the end of life. It has a strong music program, many social justice programs, classes on religious and nonreligious topics and opportunities for service outside the church. It is accepting of all types of people and cultures. It just requires you to be dedicated to creating the beloved community.
It is an intentional community where love and justice is centered and welcomes searchers and believers of all sorts as long as you acknowledge the worth and dignity of all people and work to live out those values.

First Unitarian Church has been my spiritual home and community for 25+ years. We've had our ups and downs, but overall it's been amazing.

This church is a wonderful place, full of welcoming people who promote love, reason, and freedom in religion. It has a thriving social justice community of 8 action groups that is working on antiracism, anti-oppression and climate justice. Our senior minister, Reverend Alison Miller, brings energy full of commitment and inspiration that engenders a sense of collectively working together. And her sermons are knock-outs.

I’ve worked with a lot of groups in this church, and it has been a very rewarding experience, being able to move the world closer to justice next to other dedicated, wise and committed people.

Along with a few other activities at my church, I am a member of the choir. We have two lively vocal choirs, and a handbell choir led by our multi-talented Garrett Bond. I enjoy adding my voice along with my fellow singers to the Sunday morning services.

Finally, the Religious Education program is one of the best, where they weave our young ones into the fabric of church life. The program welcomes all kinds of families to join us for active play, creative learning, identity growth, justice seeking, community building, and spirit deepening in a Unitarian Universalist (UU) community.

So come check us out! Our services are at 10:15 am each Sunday. You will be warmly received.
