Wow. What a magnificent building!! Me and my friends had the most amazing time here. We were fascinated by the art, sculptures, architecture and beauty. But wait, there’s more! The staff made us feel incredibly welcomed; they shared useful tips an kindness and a genuine love for their capital! Everyone here was a good egg! Everyone needs to visit! The library had a special place in our hearts and its memory will live on in us forever. Plus they let us keep our coffee with us. Best day ever!

What a wonderful building. This state capitol is one of the best in all the 50 states. The architecture of the capitol is honestly jaw dropping. The staff at the capitol are super helpful, and they have active tour guides delving into the historical aspects of the building. Would 100% recommend a trip out to Des Moines just to witness this beautiful establishment.

An impressively beautiful building that’s worth the stop. Why not? It’s free! The entrance is below and to the left of the stairs at the front of the building. Stop at the information desk to the left after entering, the folks there will give you a map and share some highlights. Don’t skip the library!
