This is our second time staying at Marco Polo, and this review is long overdue.
Even before check-in, I usually call the hotel to coordinate a few things, and the front desk has always been very attentive. Because of that, my check-in has always been smooth and hassle-free.
I’d like to give a shoutout to JV, who assisted with my check-in and check-out during our first stay, and Yeda, who helped us during our second. Both were very courteous, always smiling, and easy to work with. It honestly felt like dealing with fellow colleagues rather than just hotel staff.
The food was also very good. We stayed a total of three nights, and the quality was consistently great. The fruits were fresh, and I especially enjoyed the puto sikwate. Breakfast service was pleasant and well-managed. I wasn’t able to recall the name of the person who prepared my partner’s coffee, but thank you.
On our first stay, on the second night, we experienced an earthquake while we were at the hotel. The staff responded quickly and were very alert, keeping everyone informed. They provided water and blankets while we waited for clearance to return to the building. What really stood out to me was that the hotel offered everyone affected a complimentary stay. I don’t know if others ended up using theirs, but we definitely used ours for this second stay. I was genuinely impressed that they honored and committed to their word.
During our second stay, my only drawback was that our room initially didn’t have bath towels. It was only after my third call that we received them. That said, considering this was during the Christmas season, I didn’t mind it too much. I also really appreciated that they accommodated my request for a slightly later check-out since we were still making our way back to the hotel at the time.
Overall, the experience left a very good impression on me. I hope they’ll have promos and vouchers in the future.
