I learned so much. Allow plenty of time because there are lots of detailed exhibits. Great bookstore. In summer’s blazing heat, this is a fabulous place to cool your heels on a long road trip and immerse yourself in all things Steinbeck. There’s much to reflect on. Covered parking nearby. The little historical downtown is good for a stroll.

This was a surprisingly excellent experience! As a reader who has enjoyed some of Steinbeck's works, this was a real treat. The layout was purposeful and engaging. There were details shared here with which I was not as familiar. This is a great experience for people of all ages who have a desire learn about a great 20th century American author. We only planned to stay an hour here, but out total time in the center was about two hours. The Travels with Charley section was one of the highlights for our visit! Totally worth it!

I really enjoyed walking through the museum. There were a lot of great displays categorizing his life, his loved ones, and his writings. It was fun seeing original writings and artifacts from his life. There’s also a great gift shop with his books, postcards, and other merchandise. Tickets were $15 unless you match one of their discounts.
