Navy Pier in Chicago isn’t just about food and fun – it’s also the gateway to some amazing cruises! You can hop on a relaxing lake cruise to soak in skyline views or take an architecture tour that glides along the Chicago River. Sunset and dinner cruises add a romantic touch, with music, lights, and city magic shimmering across the water.

Navy pier on a sunny day was a great experience! We took the skyline view boat ride from shoreline and also experienced the Ferris wheel. It was an amazing experience with breathtaking views of the Chicago skyline. There’s a Food court & shops inside but they were very expensive!

Navy Pier is one of those places that feels like it was made for wandering and our day there was nothing short of amazing.
We didn’t plan it, but we happened to stumble upon a Transformers movie promo event happening on the pier. Full scale models, energy and surprise photo ops. It instantly turned our leisurely stroll into a full on adventure!
We rode the iconic Ferris wheel, sipped on margaritas with a view and took our time exploring every corner. The breeze off the water was crisp, even in May, so if you’re visiting during shoulder season, bring a light sweater. That lake chill is real, but so is the beauty.
What I loved most? There’s something for everyone here; families, couples, groups, or solo explorers. Art installations, restaurants, skyline views and open air charm. You can let the day take you and trust it’ll deliver.
Chicago has its gems and Navy Pier is one worth polishing often. We had an incredible time and will absolutely return!
