Visited many times and even took my engagement photos inside the museum a year ago! They have some rules about photography within the museum, so make sure to call ahead of time if you plan to do a photoshoot here. There are so many exhibits to walk through with art for all kinds of tastes. Plan to spend at least an hour and a half here. The free First Thursdays are such a cool deal! Pretty crowded, but the acoustics of the building soften the noise. The gift shop is delightful but can get tight when lots of people are inside. As for parking, just find a parking garage nearby and walk over to the museum. One more note: they generously offer a military discount which is free entry.

I visited recently and they have an awesome collection. They were undergoing a remodel so there was limited access to many areas, but worth every penny of admission!
First, their prized Monet has been restored recently and it’s absolutely amazing.
In connection with Monet, the collection of Japanese paintings and wooodblock prints is really some incredible work. It’s worth going just to see these Japanese works because pictures do not do them any justice. To see these techniques and details up close is sublime.
Portland has so many awesome things to draw one’s attention, but don’t miss the Art Museum, the museum itself and the blocks long park that connects all the buildings on the street are a local treasure.

Love the first Thursday of each month because it's “free”! My favorite four-letter word. Plus it's a good day for people watching at the museum; all the funky Portland artists stroll on through with attire and dress oh so funky and fresh for the occasion. Artistic eye candy.
