The Short North Stage is truly one of Columbus’s best-kept secrets. Tucked right into the Short North, it’s a hidden gem that consistently delivers performances that are as good as—if not better than—some Broadway shows I’ve seen. The quality of talent, production, and storytelling here is remarkable.
Come From Away just opened, and it is absolutely worth making a night out for. The performances are powerful, polished, and deeply moving. Every actor and actress brings an incredible level of professionalism and heart to the stage—you quickly forget you’re not in a major metropolitan theater district.
What makes Short North Stage so special is not just the shows themselves, but the fact that we have a truly professional theater like this right here in our community. It’s intimate, electric, and consistently excellent. If you haven’t been to a show yet, go. And honestly—if you love live theater, becoming a subscriber is one of the best decisions you can make.
Columbus is lucky to have this place. 🎭✨

Went to a couple shows in 2024 and enjoyed them so much we are now season ticket holders. This is a great little theater and there is not a bad seat in the house. Love seeing the local talent. If you haven’t tried this out, YOU NEED TO! Lots of local places to eat signing walking distance.

It just keeps getting better. Aside from a few programming misfires (cough-Nine-cough), the quality of productions from acting to choreography to sets and costumes continues to improve. Having their own venue allows for more flexibility (and the addition of insulation and upgraded HVAC in recent years has made for a more pleasant year round experience) than other Columbus companies, since they are not subject to CAPA’s need for other programming. As others have pointed out, it also allows for the bar and the swing space up front that can be used for events and smaller shows.
