This is a wonderful hidden gem. Most people tend to visit the famous art museum, and they pass by this amazing museum on their way, but don't pay it attention.
I must have passed it myself a hundred times, maybe more. But not on this day.
We arrived and were surprised even before entering the building. The most amazing evergreens, s beautiful pond, very serene.
Inside, tons of Monet, Renoir, Picasso. Works of amazing, famous artists within an arms reach. Very powerful.
We will definitely return, perhaps even make it an annual event.

If you love the Impressionists, THIS is where you must go. The collection is just mind-bending and achingly beautiful. I’m no art expert, but found it really moving. We spent several hours here, but if you really know art, I’m sure you could spend a day. It’s across the street from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, so hit them both.

We loved our visit to the Barnes! Due to the size/scope of the collection, and how it is displayed, I highly recommend the Private Collection Tour with a docent to guide your experience. Our docent guide was amazing, super knowledgeable, and made sure we saw all of the pieces that we were most excited about (the Renoirs) during our tour.
The collection is obviously incredible, but hearing the back story behind certain acquisitions, Mr. Barnes himself, and the relocation to the Parkway, was invaluable. If you're going to visit the collection, I strongly encourage upgrading to the Private Tour, and don't forget to stop by the gift shop downstairs on your way out! They have some great stuff!!
