We had a lovely stay at this hotel The location was incredibly convenient, especially for sightseeing.
The buffet breakfast was good, plenty of choices, fresh, delicious, and a great way to start the day. The staff were absolutely wonderful and truly went out of their way to look after us, always friendly, attentive, and happy to help with anything we needed.
Overall, it was a very comfortable and welcoming stay, and we would definitely recommend this hotel just be mindful that the walls are thin and you can hear the doors open and close from other guests throughout the night so if you’re a light sleeper it may be bothersome.

The service was excellent in every regard, and we had a terrific time.
Fort Santiago is a pleasant location.
The room was ancient but tidy, and it didn't worry me that the paint was flaking off the walls.
We enjoyed a delicious meal upstairs on the terrace. It would be beneficial for the personnel to be aware of which wines are unavailable; this would make things much easier. We finally found the appropriate wine. It is also useful to understand how wine is served; that occasion did not go well.

This is not to preface that I am biased with the cat, but I would like to start that The Bayleaf is more than just a hotel smack down at the heart of the walled city of Intramuros.
It may feel intimidating to some, but with their very attentive and accomodating staff not to mention very sumptuous food (and their signature dessert — I highly recommend you order that) makes you wonder why not a lot of people recommend them enough.
I shall be returning to The Bayleaf, eating more of their dessert at the top floor at Sunset and so should you.
