We had such a wonderful experience at the Central Park Boathouse on Friday, September 26! Our waiter, Jim, was extremely friendly and warm, which made the evening even more special. We ordered pasta and wine, and with the perfect weather, the windows were open so we could enjoy the fresh air and a stunning view over the lake toward Bethesda Fountain. The entire setting felt magical, like something out of a movie, showing off why New York City is such an amazing place.
The walk to and from the restaurant was just as enjoyable—peaceful and relaxing through the park, with the bonus of stumbling upon a lively group salsa dancing event on the way home. We couldn’t resist joining in for a bit, which was the perfect ending to an already memorable night.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful and unique New York City dining experience right inside the best park in the world!

I photographed a surprise proposal at The Loeb Boathouse in Central Park, and it was nothing short of magical. The private gondola ride felt straight out of Venice — calm waters, stunning views, and the most peaceful atmosphere right in the heart of New York City.
The gondolier was warm and professional, giving just enough space for the couple to enjoy their moment while still adding that classic touch of charm. Watching the proposal unfold on the lake surrounded by trees and the soft reflection of the city skyline made it one of the most romantic sessions I’ve ever captured.
If you’re planning a proposal, engagement, or anniversary, I can’t recommend this spot enough. It’s timeless, intimate, and truly unforgettable.

It was a gorgeous, sunny Thursday in September when I had the pleasure of visiting the Central Park Boathouse with a group of 13 clients, and the experience could not have been more perfect. From the moment we arrived, everything felt special — the setting by the water, the buzzing yet relaxed atmosphere, and the flawless attention from the staff.
The food was a highlight: warm bread rolls we couldn’t stop reaching for, a refreshing and perfectly balanced caprese salad, crispy golden fried calamari, and a tender, flavorful cod that melted in the mouth. Every dish was beautifully prepared and served with impeccable timing, making our large group feel taken care of without ever feeling rushed.
Of course, the views are nothing short of spectacular — Central Park’s greenery reflected on the lake, creating a backdrop that makes every bite and every conversation feel elevated. For anyone planning something extra special, the Boathouse also offers a private dining room with sweeping views and a stunning event space that would make any occasion unforgettable.
This was more than just a lunch; it was an experience that left us all smiling. I’ll absolutely be back and recommend it to anyone looking for an iconic and memorable NYC dining moment.
