The rooms were clean, modern, and had a great view of the city. We also loved the unique character of the hotel that preserved the historical feel while still looking updated. Excellent staff, including front desk, valet, and security. Walking distance to the Capitol gardens, midtown, and DOCO which has many restaurants and bars. We will stay here again.

Setting your wedding in Downtown Sacramento opens up all sorts of opportunities for hustle and bustle, historic architecture, and a glistening skyline. And no one offers a better venue for all that than The Citizen Hotel.

I've photographed a handful of weddings and events at The Citizen Hotel, and I always leave looking forward to my next job there!

The guest rooms themselves have plenty of historic and art deco charm, which makes them colorful spaces for getting ready. And not only do rooms have soaring views of the Sacramento area, but you can even hold an intimate and epic wedding ceremony on the 7th floor balcony. But if your wedding guestlist is on the longer side, well-appointed ballrooms provide a plenty of indoor space for large ceremonies and receptions.

The in-hotel Grange restaurant also provides a perfect solution for intimate wedding receptions, while serving up great eats (Yep, I've come here on date night as well).

But my favorite photo spots are on the ground floor, where you can capture newlywed photos in the dark, and richly decorated library, or in front of the vintage elevators.

Truly, this hotel is brimming with style and substance. Don't overlook it if you're looking for a grand and artsy wedding space in the center of Sacramento!

Very helpful staff, bed was very comfy, room was very nice, brief A/C issue, engineering responded quickly, fixed it and were friendly.

The only travesty is the elegant brass railings on the stairs that were painted over with black paint and were kind of sticky from it.
