We had an outstanding time at The Clyde Hotel. Central to everything we had planned for our weekend trip. Loved the room- super comfy bed and pillows, great shower, mini fridge, tea kettle… everything very clean. My favorite thing was the design aesthetic throughout, from the lobby to the room, materials were repurposed in a very utilitarian way that didn't lack for a sense of luxury. I want to commend the designers for excellence. We had no problems from check in to check out; all well thought out and felt more like an Airbnb in the best ways possible.
Tokens for coffee and tea at the downstairs shop were much appreciated bonus. Would highly recommend and will definitely book again.
Used secure room in lobby to keep our bags so we could check out early and not schlep luggage around town until we got our car back from secure parking.
Parked down the block at the Union Bank underground parking. Very secure and simple to navigate. $28 for peace of mind overnight. Well worth it.
Overall the hotel offered all we needed and then some. We were very happy with our experience.

At first I was taken back by how minimal the interaction was with people here but I absolutely loved it because I am naturally a introvert.. so this was truly a refreshing and new take on how to run a hotel! Very tech reliant so be sure to watch the video they send you unlike I did! Haha I had to ask and find out the hard way because I was thinking this was more traditional but no, this is much better in my opinion! It feels like you basically live in a dorm or something but it was exactly what I needed since I'd be out and about for most of the time and I'd only be using the room for sleeping purposes only. Some rooms do not have bathroom and have a shared bathroom, great experience in my opinion too. Great dining area, night staff seemed a bit cold but, still very helpful and day staff was chipper and friendly as can be, very helpful. Close to everything you could ever need, be advised this spot doesn't have a parking space but literally just down the road is a open air parking lot with a guard who watches the parking lot, super helpful too! 25 a night! Beautiful area though, interesting set up, blend of traditional and tech savvy. Can be jarring for someone new to the area but just as long as you watch the video you'll be set. The water is a bit harsh so be aware that you need your own conditioner or oil, highly suggest this!

Formerly the Ace hotel in portland, always a great stay. I get the private queen room and always feel the stay is clean and comfortable. Super modern, great walking access to Powells, Whole Foods, and the streetcar lines. Tokens were given to get free coffee and a bagel each morning downstairs at Water Avenue coffee, which is attached to the hotel lobby. Great coffee and city views. Be aware walking at night but I’ve never felt unsafe walking or taking transit in the area
