Good ambiance. They have a non-smoking area, which is perfect for gatherings, especially if you have kids or toddlers with you.

The food and meals are on the expensive side, and the beverages are above average in price, similar to other cafés.

I like how each beverage has a customized design, making it feel like you're in a real lab tech environment.

As for the staff, I would rate them 3 stars.
They can do the job well, but they lack hospitality. I expected them to smile, especially when we tried to interact with them. They answered our questions, but it would be better if they were trained to smile at customers.

When the lady served our food, she had no expression at all, almost as if we owed her an apology for ordering. We even tried to lighten the mood to make her smile, but she still didn’t. However, the gentleman who took our order was good.

Considering the food is expensive, the customer service should also match the price.

The ambiance is good, though. It is a bit cramped downstairs, but the upper area is okay and offers more privacy. There are also smokers outside.

The WiFi does not work in the upper area. I tried using it downstairs months ago, and it worked there. (But slow, only 2 hours.) This time, we did not use their WiFi at all since we had our own data, and their WiFi not working. WiFi = nicht gut. 🇩🇪

Overall, I will still give this café 5 stars because I spent my time there with my lovely friends before migrating to Germany.

The Coffee Lab and Lounge is located next to Angeles Fried Chicken just 3 mins away from SM City Mall Clark.
They have the most extensive list of brews from espresso, moka pot, matcha, Vietnamese drip coffee/ egg coffee, crafted coffee, infused drinks and lots more. One of the very very few cafe within Pampanga with knowledgeable coffee baristas.
Food and drinks are reasonably priced and well presented. Lab Shack burger good for a light meal. Spanish coffee hints honey sweetness. Service is excellent, well communicated and hygiene is tip top.
The place to go for a good cup of coffee! Recommended.

A week later: Returned and tried Coffee Lab’s version of Loco Moco, its gravy is strong in flavour catered for likes of local Pampanga and the meat patty is well blended. Hot latte with choice of local beans is good and service is great as usual. Pecan pie is okay, generous of pecan toppings while pecan custard is not too sweet, prefer Porch cafe though (sorry po).
Was a pleasant meal, they didn’t disappoint.

Follow up: Visited for steak sandwich (USDA approved steak) with side spicy fries and flavourful grilled sauce. Their Flat White choice of Colombian beans offers a well balanced medium body smooth profile. Great latte art as shown on photo!

I ordered hojicha and Vietnamese coffee, and overall, I enjoyed my hojicha. Even though the powder was just okay in quality, I appreciated the large serving size and the fact that it wasn't too milky or overly sweet. The Vietnamese coffee, on the other hand, was extremely sweet—possibly too much for my taste. The ambiance was thoughtfully designed, with a cozy interior. ☕

However, two aspects quite affected my experience: first, the music was played way too loudly, making it uncomfortable; second, the staff seemed scattered around, talking loudly and not appearing very engaged. It gave off a vibe of being more of a hangout spot than a professional service environment. I hope these issues can be addressed because I'm still excited to visit again and try the food next time. 🌟
