The Louisville Zoo is a fantastic destination for families, animal lovers, and anyone who enjoys the outdoors. The grounds are beautifully maintained, with spacious pathways, shaded areas, and plenty of spots to rest or grab a snack. The exhibits are thoughtfully designed, giving visitors great views of the animals while still providing them with natural, comfortable habitats. Highlights include the Gorilla Forest, Glacier Run, and the Islands exhibit—all of which are engaging, educational, and fun to explore.
The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly dedicated to the care of the animals and the experience of the guests. The zoo also offers interactive and seasonal events that make every visit unique, from animal encounters to themed festivals. It’s easy to spend an entire day here without running out of things to see or do.
The Louisville Zoo strikes a perfect balance between conservation, education, and entertainment. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, it’s a must-see attraction that provides memories for all ages. Truly a gem in Louisville!

We went from open to close and managed to walk through everything only avoiding the park and splash park area (we wanted to see every exhibit). Kids had a great time. Would recommend buying tickets online. There are member discounts on things like camel ride , giraffe feeding and tight rope walk . If you frequent location I’d recommend getting membership

First class zoo! Our day was paradise with 🐅 penguin 🐧 🦥 sloth, emu my personal favorite, and lovely koala 🐨 just to name a few! I'm considering a membership. Staff goes above and beyond to care and promote all these special and endangered species. Not to mention they have wonderful engagement and even had a super fun drum circle 😄 Highly recommended and with food drive you can do good for the community. Did I mention the gift shop?? Fabulous 🐧 earrings! Please visit and you will have a special day to remember of stress relief and pure fun!!
