Enjoyed my stay here. The nightly rate was reasonable, the proximity to Yale was as good as it gets, the rooms were clean and lobby space inviting, and the staff were friendly. I especially enjoyed the bartender (Dan I think), who was kind and said enough but not too much. The poutine w/ short rib was delicious.

I booked this hotel for a week for a work trip. Let me start with the front desk service, they did have a nice attitude and they were able to check me in fairly quickly given the heavy foot traffic. The location is very convenient and at prime spot to get to everything. The room’s did seem a bit outdated and could use some TLC. There were barely any outlets and some stuff was connected through extension cords.. you could see where the wallpaper is starting to lift and bubble. When I first entered the bathroom I looked around and noticed some stain on the floor and around the toilet was dirty and in need of recauking. The toilet was also dirty with stains and hair when I first walked in. You could clearly see the wallpaper fully lifted in the bathroom too. I did like that they have a heater just for the bathroom. Because I hate cold bathrooms!! The room alarm clock was off by hours and it sucked that they only had usb plugs for chargers. They should probably get a USB-C plug in since they’ve grown popular.
I waited over 30 minutes to get on an elevator and as soon as you walked into the hallway for the 1B garage it smelled like straight sewerage. Even my 4 year old was complaining of the stench and converted his nose every time we had to walk down. So it definitely sucked waiting 30 minutes for the elevator while on that floor. We ended up taking the stairs eventually because the wait was outrageous. There is only one elevator that goes down to the parking garage so if you’re going down from a higher level you have to get off at the lobby to have to take another elevator down to the garage.

If you’re looking for good eats, try the Thai restaurant next to Ben and Jerry’s next door ! So delicious!! The pita spot across the street is open late and is really good too!!

This is our second time staying at OMNI in New Haven, this time with a baby. I would say this as honest as I can be, the location is agreeable, walking distance to parks, restaurants and Yale campus. The front desk women are very nice and accommodating. The room was clean. My husband went up to the bar twice trying to watch the game (Giants v Eagles) and the first time he was told “some lady” was watching a show at a bar!! Second time, they “didn’t have the game available” I’m sorry this is a bar not someone’s living room where you can watch your soap operas. If you advertise a place as a bar, make sure that is what you delivering. Last but not least, breakfast if I can put 0 stars for it, I would. That was the most tasteless and poorly presented breakfast I’ve ever had in my life, I left feeling nauseous, I barely ate what was given to us. This hotel has the right location and ambience but it’s lacking improvement on the deliverance of it. Please do better. Thank you.
