Great experience at this hotel. Clearly a luxury hotel with many luxury amenities. We stayed here using the American Express Platinum Rewards credit to fine hotels, and they knew exactly what to do with all the perks that come with it. The valet at the front were super nice and respectful, I guess all the staff was come to think of it. The room was a little small if I'm being honest, but everything else made up for it. It's in the perfect location downtown for walking to places. The pool was fun, although it was a little cold. Unfortunately the hot tub was under maintenance when we went so we couldn't use it. The breakfast was pretty good too, it had European style vibes. Plenty of food to eat although I recommend scheduling a reservation as it does fill up pretty quick. Overall I think this is a great hotel.

Spending our 5th anniversary of being in love at the Palace Hotel San Francisco felt like returning to the heart of the city that raised our story — but this time, with deeper roots and softer light.

We’ve celebrated past anniversaries by traveling somewhere far, but this year, we decided to rediscover the magic of San Francisco — to experience the city at its finest, through the eyes of history and love. And no place holds that kind of grace like the Palace.

From the moment we arrived, we were wrapped in an overwhelming warmth — heartfelt greetings of “Happy Anniversary,” a surprise dessert beautifully dedicated to our love, a room with the perfect view just as we hoped for, and an unforgettable turndown service surprise that greeted us after a dreamy evening out — dinner in the city and cocktails at the legendary Pied Piper. To return to our room bathed in soft light and quiet elegance… it felt as though the hotel itself was celebrating with us.

This marks my third stay at the Palace, and each visit feels like a different chapter in my life’s story:
    • The first with my mother — a memory of wonder.
    • The second with a dear friend visiting from Texas — a memory of laughter.
    • And now, with the love of my life — a memory of forever.

Every stay is magical, historical, and soulful — where gold chandeliers whisper stories, and the marble floors remember footsteps of time. There’s a kind of poetry in every corner of this place — a reminder that love, much like history, only grows more beautiful with time.

The Palace Hotel will always be my favorite in the city, not just for its grandeur, but for how it makes you feel — that you’re part of something enduring, elegant, and eternal.

I recently stayed at The Palace Hotel with my family and experienced exceptional hospitality, especially during breakfast. Our son has a very limited diet due to an eating disorder, so we brought his cereal with us. When we requested a glass of milk for him, the breakfast staff not only provided it, but also offered a bowl, asked what size he needed, and showed genuine kindness and care throughout the interaction. They even chose not to charge us for it.

That thoughtful gesture meant so much to us as parents, and it reflects the true spirit of luxury service. Thank you to the team for going above and beyond to make our family feel welcomed and supported. We look forward to returning.
