Absolutely beautiful inside! Also, the amenities and restaurants are top tier. The building is beautiful and it's in an excellent location. It's right across the street from Buffalo Bayou Park and Trails with easy access to Eleanor Tinsley Park and a great dog park!

The residences at Allen: Because Who Needs Darkness, Anyway?

If you’ve ever looked at the Houston skyline and thought, “Wow, this city could really use a giant glow stick,” good news. The Allen Tower heard you loud and clear. This beacon of overcompensation stands tall and proud, wrapped in enough LED lighting to guide aircraft from three counties over. Subtle? Never heard of her.

The building practically screams, “Look at me!” as if we had a choice. It’s as if someone gave a toddler a lighting budget and said, “Go nuts.” And boy, did they. Every night it lights up like it’s auditioning to be Times Square South, but with none of the charm and all of the eye strain.

Sleep? Good luck. Stargazing? Forget it. Privacy in your own home without feeling like you’re under stadium lights? Not anymore. But hey, at least The Allen is here to make sure you never forget it’s there, even if you desperately want to.

Truly a gift to the city, if the city had specifically asked for a migraine.

This new building is, hands down, the most hideous building I have seen at night. It is a bright, white LED monstrosity that looks cartoonish in comparison to the rest of the downtown Houston skyline. When I bought my rooftop property, this was being built. I had no idea that they were going to light it with walmart-looking bright lights up and down the entire building. It contrasts against the rest of the skyline. If I could define "light pollution" with one picture, it would be this building.
