I had such a great stay at the Thompson Hotel in Gold Coast Chicago. The views alone are worth it. Waking up every morning to snow falling over the lake and the city while working in Chicago felt genuinely special and grounding.
The location is perfect right in the middle of everything but still calm enough to feel like a true retreat. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and welcoming which made the stay feel easy and comfortable from the start.
I loved how walkable everything was. Sparrow became a go to for drinks, Lou Malnati’s for classic Chicago pizza, and Hendrickx for baked goods and coffee. The hotel restaurant Tavern also had solid breakfast options which made mornings simple and reliable.
Pricing felt very reasonable for the area especially considering the views and overall quality. And the rainfall shower was such a nice touch after long workdays. Overall a really enjoyable stay and I would absolutely come back next time I am in Chicago.

As it is a holiday, the area is significantly livelier than usual, necessitating advance preparations for travel arrangements.

The Thompson Hotel may be the best deal going for any hotel in the United States. “Location, Location, Location” is a predominant theme for hotel real estate, and the Thompson’s is perfectly situated in the heart of the best nightlife in Chicago. Their GM Anthony Beach and his staff will make sure you are taken care of during your stay. I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough.
