Always a Great place for family n walking, exercise, etc. Miles of walking trails. There's a walking trail towards back of park that goes down to the river. There's plenty of playgrounds and picnic areas. Plenty of ponds with duck n geese:, fishing allowed (no license required for age 15 and under: last time I checked; pls check) Also, There's a Japanese garden (pay entrance ) very Beautiful trees, Coy pond bridge, ponds, flowers, Coy and other fish. Very Relaxing: great for meditation. Inside Japanese Garden you will see a tiny old Tea House original brought from Japan. There is an Ampatheatre where concerts are held year round. On the west side of park there is a BMX bike track. On the east entrance of park the is the Art of Life Healing Garden.

Woodward Park was a beautiful spot for fall photos. The trees were turning colors, the scenery was gorgeous, and the whole park had a calm, peaceful vibe. We just went for pictures, but it ended up being such a lovely place to walk around and enjoy the season. Really pretty, easy to access, and definitely worth visiting if you want a nice outdoor backdrop.

This was my second use of the park, and the first time since we moved to Madera a few months ago. First time was for a Turkey Trot with the family. Today spouse and I felt like walking as the temperatures were nice. We walked a little over 4 miles. There are plenty of trails. Sometimes too many and more than on maps. Many times not signposted, when a little direction would help. Having said that, it is hard to get lost here, as there are allways some land marks. We looked the healthy looking trees in part of the park. Other parts are a little more exposed to the sun, or have no trees at all. In any case, well be back for more exploring the greater park and the Japanese garden that we had to skip today.
