After visiting Chocolate Hills and the Tarsier Conservation Area, we decided to make a side trip to Baclayon Church. Medyo pagod na kami after several hours of motorcycle riding, pero worth it talaga pagdating.
The moment you see the church, ramdam mo agad yung old history vibe, ang ganda, tahimik, and very classic. I’m not sure if officially a heritage site na siya, pero it definitely feels like one. You can really appreciate how well preserved the structure is.
A nice, peaceful stop to rest, enjoy the view, and feel a bit of Bohol’s history.

Baclayon Church is a must visit church of significant history in Philippines, when Catholicism was introduced. Bohol , with its proximity to Mactan Cebu,is intertwined with the introduction of the sto nino worship.
Both places are geographically at the heart of the Philippines, belonging to the Visayan islands. Though history via the Jesuits, say the Philippines was discovered by Magellan. There are evidences of past trading between islands outside the Philippines. In Mindanao, the other consolidated island, South of Visayas, is the area where advanced system of governance has been preexisting prior to the 1521 Magellan Discoverd Philippines "narrative".
