Great history area. Loved the authentic, old train that you can ride on! The California train museum has so many beautiful restored locomotives and train cars that you can walk through. Also. I found the United States mail train to be extremely interesting! I did not know that the post office used to operate trains for the mail!

We stopped in old Sacramento on our way to Lake Tahoe and had lunch and walked around the town. It was a wonderful experience. The little town was so cute and great little shops. Definitely worth stopping here one of the best capitals I have been to. It was a great way to break up the trip and had a wonderful time.

The Old Sacramento Waterfront is such a gem. It's full of charm, history, and great local energy. Whether you’re walking along the cobblestone streets, browsing through unique shops, or watching the river roll by, there’s always something to enjoy.

One of my favorite stops is The Atrium It’s an absolute must-visit! It’s a creative hub filled with local art, sustainable brands, and friendly makers. You can shop for beautifully handcrafted pieces, sip and paint in their cozy art space, or explore the gallery to see inspiring work by local artists. It’s the perfect mix of relaxation and creativity and a wonderful way to support Sacramento’s art community.

If you’re spending a day at the waterfront, make sure to carve out some time at The Atrium. You’ll leave with a full heart, maybe a handmade treasure, and definitely a smile.
