I was incredibly pleased with The Riverfront Hotel. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The building and lobby were beautiful. But the main reason I’ll book here again is the staff. They were kind, helpful, patient and had a sense of humor. They all seemed to enjoy working there! This little boutique hotel is the perfect location if you need to get to the convention center, the cruise terminal or the casino. And it’s an easy walk to the French Quarter.

The location is great, but that’s the only good thing I can say. Our alarm clock was a garbage truck at about 4 a.m. every day, which was not the most fun. I also left behind a fairly large mirror and somehow the “loss prevention” team never found it which is interesting considering the only people who should have access to the room is the guest and hotel staff (hope the staff member who took it for themselves loves it as much as I did!).

Stay here if you need to only for the location, otherwise you are better off paying a bit more or traveling a bit farther for a more comfortable travel experience.

Let me start off by saying, the bartendar was friendly and nice when i asked about local places, and waiter for breakfast was very nice and working hard to make sure everyone was taken care of and didn't feel neglected. Poor guy was the only one waiting tables for like 30 people downstairs. The front desk staff, horrible. They were rude and unhelpful most of the time. The valet lady was on her phone and rude to my friend when she asked about parking the car. Most of the staff there had very nasty attitudes. I would say they might be overworked and underpaid, but it seemed like that just might have been their personality. They did not care to be there. The rooms and hallway smelled like mildew and you could just smell the coldness of the hotel. Now the downstairs lobby smelled good, they had a strong air freshner going.
The breakfast is not worth the price, it is not free. The rooms needed to be dusted and things wiped down…ESPECIALLY the bathroom sink! It was so gross! The shower pressure was good though. But the sink water temp needs to be regulated! As soon as you turn the hot water on, 2 secs in it's SCALDING hot! Like immediately scalding hot to where it burnt my hand! So turn cold water on first then hot. Water temps are extreme. The bedding was nice at least, but it smelled like my pillows had been on the floor. Now the one silver lining is when I parked at the back of the hotel, because I was there on the weekend and was gone during the day times..I didnt have to pay for parking for my entire stay. The back of the hotel is metered parking but free after a certain time (I believe 7pm-8am). But overall, would not recommend staying here to anyone and I will not be back.
