I got married at The Joinery in June of 2025, and the experience was perfect. I was worried at first about how things would shake out, because the venue is so nice, and we weren't planning to spend a ton on the wedding (everything but dinner itself was made or assembled by our friends), which itself was on the smaller side…but from start-to-finish the experience was awesome, due in large part to Shay, the venue manager.

Shay was communicative, on top of everything, understanding of our financial limitations, and made amazing suggestions for vendors to work with within our budget! Shay helped us to keep everything about the wedding accessible, and as my now-spouse is immunocompromised, COVID-safer. Shay and the recommended vendors were also great about that.

Both me and my spouse are non-binary, and we let Shay know early on that we would be having a lot of trans people at the wedding, to ensure that we were on the same page, and that there wouldn't be any issues for us or our guests. I would say that Shay went above and beyond–as she does in all aspects of her job. Shay helped our friend who was on the playlist with music cues; Shay even helped hang the "you're the they to my them" banner that we had over the drink station. In my opinion, Shay is not just tolerant of queer and trans people, she is an ally.

I don't plan on getting married again, but if I were in a position to host a large-scale event, like a wedding, I would totally have it at The Joinery!! The dual indoor/outdoor social situation + the upstairs bar (which at our wedding, was a tattoo studio) made for a ton of great conversation between our guests!! Also the venue was cool with us not having any kind of alcohol situation, which is rare.

I thought The Joinery rocked, as a wedding venue. One of the best days of my life. Thanks, Shay!!

In June of this year, my spouse and I got married at the Joinery, and it was the most perfect day and one of the best days of my life, and that was in large part due to the help, support, and suggestions of the venue manager, Shay.

Our budget was small and we did nearly everything ourselves from the decor to the flowers; even acquiring the drinks ourselves (from Costco :)) and the venue was more than accommodating, and Shay was even there the day of the event to help coordinate, hang banners, assist with music cues, and generally be an uplifting and calming presence on a very stressful day!

My spouse and I are both non-binary, and naturally, that means that all of our friends are extremely queer, so we made this clear to Shay at the beginning of the process to ensure the safety and comfort of our guests and to ensure that the venue and their culture would be a good fit for us and at no point in the process did we feel othered or uncomfortable. In fact, I would say that Shay went out of her way to accommodate all of our insane requests and answered all of my questions almost immediately at all hours of the day.

For example, we decided to turn the upstairs speakeasy into a tattoo parlor for the day and offer flash tattoos to our guests, and Shay was not only supportive of the idea but also excited and motivated to make our dream day a reality and to host a slightly unconventional wedding.

Our wedding was also Covid-safe and accessible because I am immunocompromised, and Shay was excited to make this happen and to help work with vendors on masking. We partnered with Clean Air Club and required KN-95s for all guests, and everyone was extremely understanding about the situation.

We also rented the attached apartment, where we got ready for our day, and we were even granted early access to the venue so we could bring over all our decor, drinks, etc., before the time that our rental window began, which helped everything to run really smoothly and to go off without a hitch.

All of that aside, The Joinery itself is a beautiful venue with amazing lighting, spaces, and different areas for your guests to socialize and congregate, and has a great flow to it that allows for a wonderful event and I wouldn't hesitate to host another event in the future.

Thank you so much to Shay and the Joinery for making my perfect day a reality! We truly couldn't have done it without you and are so, so grateful!

This venue is absolutely STUNNING! The staff is amazing to work with and the outdoor patio is beautiful. We DJed a wedding there and to see the venue on the day of was incredible. It started with a ceremony in the main space, then the guests made their way outside for cocktail hour, then back in to a complete transformed room. The team at The Joinery loves what they do which is so refreshing to see. Don't hesitate, book the Joinery for your event!
