A Year-Round Sanctuary with Stunning Wildflowers and Wildlife!
The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is truly a gem that is worth visiting in every season, but it becomes exceptionally magical during the springtime. The vast fields of Bluebonnets—Texas's iconic state flower—create a breathtaking scene that everyone should experience at least once.
One of my favorite things about this center is its incredible wildlife. For several years now, I have looked forward to seeing the mother owl and her adorable owlets during the spring and summer months. It is such a special and heartwarming experience to observe them in such a peaceful setting.
It’s also a perfect destination for families. Every year, they feature unique, large-scale landscape art installations that are fantastic for kids to explore and play with. If you are looking for a place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and reconnect with nature, this is the spot. I’ve been coming here for years and it never ceases to amaze me. Truly a must-visit for anyone in or around Austin!

So… beautiful. Our daughter just got married here. I could have spent so much more time here. She and her new hubby got an annual pass. If you love nature, it is a must see. Staff was also great. It was a tiny intimate ceremony but they treated us great. It was so special.

My family attended the "Disney's: Nightmare Before Christmas Light Trail" event. This was well set up and coordinated really great. It was easy to purchase tickets, find parking and the staff was friendly and happy to be there. The light trail was awesome and we all had so much fun. Although quite smaller than the Christmas Trail of Lights at Zilker Park, this event felt extra special – reliving the movie's storyline in person. Overall, it was a wonderful experience!
