We went in the off-season and it was still absolutely beautiful. The conservatory feels like stepping into a mini jungle—lush greenery, colorful orchids, and that warm, humid air that makes you forget it’s winter outside for a minute.
It’s such a peaceful stop if you’re looking for something relaxing, something scenic, or just want a quiet break from exploring the city. Honestly, I can only imagine how stunning this place is in peak bloom—but even off-season, it’s 100% worth it.

I love Olbrich Gardens. We are so lucky to have this as a low cost place to go especially in the winter when you really need an escape from the months of extended cold and gloom. There was an Orchid show during this visit which was worth the cost. I was happy to see the rooftop space and classrooms they have added since my last visit. Each season is special here for different reasons. Looking forward to many more visits.

A lovely gem of a destination in Madison. The conservatory (small fee) is a tropical haven to restore your soul during the Wisconsin winter. The outside gardens are free & a joy during any season! But show your love & leave a donation to keep this place alive – literally. 😉
