I have always driven past the museum on my way home from work in the evening and never made an attempt to go there on my weekend but I heard from a coworker about what the museum offered and decided to check it out. And the best part, it’s FREE to visit.
I first went into the main exhibit hall where you check in and checked out the exhibits starting with prehistoric information going to human habitation to the rise of gambling and modern Las Vegas.
Outside they had various structures from around the turn of the 20th century to houses and buildings that represented various eras of Clark County and Las Vegas. You can go into the houses and if you’re a fan of trains, you can go inside the caboose. If you go into the Babcock & Wilcox house, it has displays that go into the building of Hoover Dam as they were the company that built the dam’s penstock.
You can easily spend an hour or 2 here so if you’re looking for something different to do and don’t mind driving a bit from the strip, definitely give this museum a look.

Fantastic little museum with lots to see! And you can't beat free! This museum has an exhibit for everyone. Love all the little details in the individual houses. Saw several hummingbirds during my visit. I think I spent about 2 hours here but I was going pretty quickly. This is a great escape if you're on vacation and need a quiet place to escape for a bit.

Came here due to the "beard of knowledge" who obviously has since retired, but since we were visiting Vegas it was definitely worth a visit!

First you check in at the main building where somwone will give you a brief summary of the buildings and exhibits. Visiting is free but they do accept donations.

We walked through thr museum building, around the ghost town, into the full train and train station, and over to the neighborhood. We didn't make it through the garden- it was a bit of a colder day. I had no idea the museum would have so many things to see!

The older houses in their original condition were probably the most interesting thing for me. The museum exhibits were also really well done.

I think this is good for a few hours both for adults and families with children. The pathways, museum exhibits indoors and houses outdoors were all wheelchair accessible, so good for all family members.
