The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was fabulous, the buffet breakfast was great.
Everyone from the guy at reception to the fascinating guy on the bar to the lady who showed me in to breakfast, was friendly.
But even more, the feel of the place was unique and special – not least the views of some fabulous Victorian statues from one of the corridors, which gave it a magical, secret garden-ish flavour.
The world needs more of this, as so many places start to feel like people-processing factories.
The fact that I heard people chatting the moment I went in spoke volumes.

Me and my fiancèe loved every minute of our stay here. Very happy with our room and the service was excellent.
We had a main meal there, which was delicious and our breakfast the next day was just as good.
Everything about our experience was very pleasing and we're planning to come back again soon.

Had a brilliant time staying with my boyfriend for our anniversary. Brilliant location close to the centre and the train station.
Every member of the team we spoke to were absolutely lovely! The room had everything we needed and looked out into the lovely courtyard area. We enjoyed a few drinks in the bar area also.
Had such a great time we decided to book another night – we weren’t ready to go home!
When we did leave, we were able to leave our bags in the hotel reception while we made the most of our last day. We will be back!
