Whilst my partner, our dog, and I were on a short holiday, we booked here for dinner—and we’re so glad we did. The location is perfect, set within a wonderfully quirky and historic building full of character.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and made a real fuss of our pooch, which she absolutely loved.

The food was outstanding. We both chose pie for our main course—a true hearty British classic—and finished with sticky toffee pudding for dessert, which was the best I’ve ever had.

We would highly recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

    Thank you,
    Tom

The best pub, what an atmosphere! The food was absolutely delightful, 2 lovely fires and the staff were absolutely outstanding! They were so nice, we were a last minute walk in and they managed to not only squeeze us in but also give us a better table without asking! We stayed overnight in the master's bedroom and it was such a quirky place to sleep. Tea and coffee provided and the breakfast the next day was heavenly! They have folk music shows in the barn, but be sure to book in advance as it was sold out when we got there (on a Wednesday!)

Charming old pub…plenty of character, must be great atmosphere when there's a folk group playing.
Perfect for a birthday lunch… excellent range of beer and cider on tap… it has been said before, but order one of their pies, and you won't be disappointed 😉
