Getting to where you need can be confusing as its a shared building with leisure centre, reception for heath centre is on 1st floor but your appointment could be on another floor and there's no reception on other floors to let them know your there. Also accessible toilets are not so easy to get to and not all floors have them when they could easily have them as the toilets on other floors are large enough.

Multi-function building housing pool and gym facilities, medical practices and a health centre. It’s a little difficult to navigate and the lifts are very slow. However, the biggest problem is the lack of adequate parking space. Lots of cars circulating the loop looking for a space. Most of the parking spaces are too narrow. Park for free across Church Street in the shopping centre but you risk a fine if overstaying.

This building is horrendously unfit for purpose. I have just been for an appointment there and came away feeling upset and humiliated by the male receptionist who I feel needs retraining in customer services and communication techniques. I and many others visiting St Peter’s health care centre are unfamiliar with the buildings layout and therefore will sometimes need pointing in the right direction to the departments we are looking for. It’s seems one is first meant to present your self at reception which is up the escalator or lift which is fine but on this occasion I was told by the male receptionist to take the back stairs down to the ground level. The sign on the wall says “Lift and staircase to ground level” with a big blue arrow ⬆️ pointing at the far wall and door which I exited through only to find that all the doors were locked at the bottom of the stairs. Upon my return to reception the male receptionist was on the phone but he asked could he help me and I informed him the doors were locked, he looked bemused but didn’t offer an explanation just pointed to the escalator which was the way I’d entered the building. I couldn’t find the department on the ground floor so returned to reception. Where someone (not the receptionist) kindly showed me to the correct staircase to the ground floor (this staircase is not visible to the naked eye and is not signposted, so unless you are familiar with the building you wouldn’t know it was there). I eventually found the department I wanted and thankfully I got to my apointment on time and successfully. I have no complaints regarding my appointment as the person I saw was very friendly and efficient in her expertise. I did wonder though that if I had been less able bodied, older or disabled. I would have struggled finding the department I needed and funnily enough the physiotherapy and Muscular skeletal departments are also upstairs to reception then down stairs to the department. Laughable really. Although I wasn’t laughing after being spoken to in a very unhelpful argumentative way by the male receptionist. And whilst walking past reception on my way out the male receptionist had the cheek to shout “I did tell you it was downstairs” which there was no need for and quite humiliating.
