I’ve generally had very positive experiences at Lonsdale Leather and wanted to highlight the excellent service from the manager, Shane. He has always been very kind, approachable, and helpful whenever we’ve visited, and it’s clear he cares about customers having a good experience.
Unfortunately, during a recent visit we had a less positive interaction with another employee, Jamie. We had been waiting patiently while she finished up a task and she did see us standing there. When we politely asked whether it would be possible to get a specific square footage cut of leather, she responded rather tersely that it wasn’t possible and that we would need to order online since they can’t do it on demand.
We were visiting from out of town (Victoria) and weren’t aware of that policy, so a brief and friendly explanation would have gone a long way. The policy itself is completely understandable—it was just the tone of the interaction that felt a bit dismissive.
That said, this experience was definitely the exception rather than the rule. Every other interaction we’ve had with the team at Lonsdale Leather has been extremely positive, and the staff are usually very kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. We’ll certainly continue coming back, and we appreciate the great service we’ve received from Shane and the rest of the team.

I really appreciated the thoughtful response and the effort taken to address our experience.
